Investigation of morphology selection for CBr_4-C_2Cl_6 alloy in three dimensions with multi-phase field method

With the multi-phase field model, the unidirectional solidification with constant velocity growth and variable velocity growth of the CBr4-C2Cl6 eutectic alloy is simulated in three dimensions. The simulated results with constant velocity growth show that with the increase of pulling velocity, the morphology of the CBr4-C2Cl6 alloy evolves in the sequence of lamellar merging →lamellar-rod transition→stable lamellar growth→oscillating growth→lamellar branching. Electromechanical cracking in ferroelectrics driven by large scale domain switching

Experimental results indicate three regimes for cracking in a ferroelectric double cantilever beam (DCB) under combined electromechanical loading. In the loading, the maximum amplitude of the applied electric field reaches almost twice the coercive field of ferroelectrics. Thus, the model of small scale domain switching is not applicable any more, which is dictated only by the singular term of the crack tip field. Efficient preparation of a four-photon cluster state with homodyne measurement via cross-Kerr nonlinearity

A scheme is proposed for generating a multiphoton entangled cluster state among four modes. The scheme only uses Kerr medium, beam splitter and homodyne measurements on coherent light fields, which can be efficiently made in quantum optical laboratories. The photon in the signal mode is prepared in a superposition state of the vacuum state and one-photon state while the probe beam is initially set in a coherent state superposition. Multiparty-controlled teleportation of an arbitrary GHZ-class state by using a d-dimensional (N+2)-particle nonmaximally entangled state as the quantum channel

We present a scheme for multiparty-controlled teleportation of an arbitrary high-dimensional GHZ-class state with a d-dimensional (N+2)-particle GHZ state following some ideas from the teleportation (Chinese Physics B, 2007, 16: 2867). This scheme has the advantage of transmitting much fewer particles for controlled teleportation of an arbitrary multiparticle GHZ-class state. Moreover,we discuss the application of this scheme by using a nonmaximally entangled state as its quantum channel.     

Entanglement in a two-spin (1/2,3/2) mixed-spin Heisenberg XX chain with an inhomogeneous external magnetic field

By using the concept of negativity, we investigate the thermal entanglement of a two-spin (1/2, 3/2) mixed-spin Heisenberg XX chain with an inhomogeneous external magnetic field. We obtain the analytical results of entanglement of this model. For the case of uniform magnetic field, we find that the critical temperature is higher than the results of the spin-1/2 chain and (1/2,1) mixed-spin chain. And by adjusting the nonuniform parameter b, one is able to obtain more entanglement at a higher temperature.
